Teacher orientation workshops were held in four territories to introduce teachers across the region to new and revised syllabuses in 2016. Ministries of education in the territories with the largest candidate populations were asked to co-host the workshops by providing a suitable venue and refreshment for local participants. Teacher orientation workshops were also held in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. Workshops were conducted for the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination® (CAPE®) Animation and Game Design, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, Financial Services Studies, Food and Nutrition, Green Engineering and History syllabuses; the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate® (CSEC®) Agricultural Science, Mathematics and Portuguese syllabuses and the Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence® (CCSLC®) Portuguese syllabus.

Orientation workshops for six CSEC subjects were conducted in Belize and Saba: CSEC® Agricultural Science, CSEC® Mathematics, CSEC® Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and CSEC® Mathematics and English workshops for six subjects were conducted in Belize and Saba.
