Performance improved in Mathematics slightly when compared with 2014, 60 per cent of entries achieved acceptable grade, that is Master or Competent compared with 58 per cent in 2014. There was a marginal improvement on French with 61 per cent of entries gaining acceptable grades compared with 60 per cent in 2014.

There was a two-per cent decline on English, 63 per cent of entries achieving acceptable grades compared with 65 per cent in 2014.

Performance in Social Studies fell by four per cent, from 68 per cent in 2014 to 64 per cent this year. It also fell slightly for Integrated Science from 63 per cent in 2014 to 60 per cent this year; and remained steady on Spanish with 60 per cent in both years.

Entries

There was an increase in the number of candidates registering for CCSLC in 2015 compared with 2014. Five thousand, seven hundred and three candidates registered in 2015 compared with 5,478.

The number of subject entries however declined this year when compared with 2014. This year 12,330 subject entries were submitted compared with 13,742 entries last year. English was the largest subject with 4,061 entries, followed by Mathematics with 3,788, Social Studies 2,233, Integrated Science 1,462, French 395 and Spanish 391 entries.
